It can lead to other diseases and ultimately result to death. It is much better that you know the early signs and symptoms of cancer rather than realize it before it is too late. Here are the common early symptoms of cancer.

Losing a lot of weight can become cancer. If you find yourself losing a lot of weight, it can be a cause for celebration but if you find yourself losing weight in a sudden given time, it is time for you to check yourself and see a doctor as it might be the result of cancer.

Any wart or mole that suddenly changes is also a sign of skin cancer. If it changes color, size or shape, then it can be skin cancer. Any other skin changes should also be reported to your doctor. Sudden changes on your skin can lead to melanoma and if found early can be treated.

If you find yourself going home tired and still tired after sleeping for a couple of weeks, extreme fatigue happens and can be a sign of cancer. Chronic fatigue can be the work of certain blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.

Pain is the ultimate sign and symptom of cancer. If you have chronic headache or chronic pain in a certain area of your body, you might want to have it checked as there is surely wrong in that area. It can be because the cancer cells have infiltrated your normal tissues and have caused you pain.

Wounds or sores that do not easily heal all by itself should be a cause of concern for you. If you discover a sore inside your mouth that does not heal after a couple of treatments, it can be oral cancer due to too much consumption of nicotine through smoking.

Unusual bleeding and discharges is also a sign of cancer. Blood in the stool or in the urine can be a sign of colon cancer. Blood in the sputum can be a sign of lung cancer and other discharges that are accompanied by blood can either be profuse bleeding caused by cancer.

It is very important to know the early signs of cancer is might be the only way to save your life. When cancer has infiltrated your body, it might be a little too late.

The Turbulence Training review and the 11 Forgotten Laws review will definitely refresh your memories about the laws.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Todd_Grummans

The 5 Biggest Causes of Cancer - Know the Facts

by James S. Pendergraft Platinum Quality Author

Cancer is a deadly disease that is even capable of bringing death to the patient. Researchers are trying their best to find cure for this malignant disease. Cancer is of different types. The classification of cancer into different types is based on the part of the human body in which the disease has affected.

Most of the people do not know much about the disease and this ignorance is the major reason why the death rate are so high. Even though, researchers have not fully succeeded in finding the perfect cure for cancer, the death rate can be controlled if people have good knowledge about the disease.

You should not only pay attention in understanding the different types of cancer and their treatments, but also the causes. Understanding the causes will help you in avoiding the things that may result in cancer. The main causes of cancer are mentioned below.

Smoking

Many studies about cancer have already found that smoking is one among the main causes of cancer. Smoking affects the overall human body. The habit takes a toll on the health of many organs including kidneys, pancreas and stomach. It is also found that quitting smoking will reduce the risk of getting cancer, considerably.

Genetics

Genetics is another main cause of cancer. If there is a history of cancer in the family, the person has higher chances of getting cancer. This is the reason why it is said that such persons should take extra precautions. The modern day medical sciences have developed greatly and there are numerous genetic tests available for the hereditary cancers. However, this does not mean that the person who has a family history of getting cancer will develop it.

Environmental factors

It has also been found that the environment in which a person lives will also have a major role in cancer development.

Prolonged exposure to minerals like asbestos can cause numerous health problems including cancer. The medical problems that may occur because of the exposure to such minerals are known as mesothelioma. Exposure to benzene will also increase the risk of getting cancer according to some studies. You will only be able to understand the critical nature of this information when you come to know that benzene is present in scenarios including smoking, pollution and combustion of gasoline.

Unsafe Sex

Unsafe sex will also increase your risk of getting cancer. The chances of developing virus known as HPV will increase if you are practicing unsafe sex. This will in turn increase your risk of getting vulvar, vaginal, anal and cervical cancers.

Exposure to rays from sun

The UV rays emitted by the sun can also be called as a cause of cancer. These rays will result in the development of skin cancer. You will be astonished to know that wearing sunscreens when you are outside during the part of the day in which the sunrays are the strongest can reduce your risk of getting skin cancer.

The aforementioned are the five major causes of cancer.

Abortions Clinic. Dr. James S. Pendergraft opened the Orlando Women's Center in March 1996 to provide a full range of health care for women, including Medical Abortions, physical examinations, family planning, counseling, laboratory services.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=James_S._Pendergraft

A Tool for Early Breast Cancer Screening

by: Brenda Witt
Who isn’t familiar with the expression, “early detection is the best prevention?” We hear this term throughout the year and most everyone is familiar with this “catch phrase” as it relates to breast cancer. Obviously, a woman’s chance for survival improves when a cancer is found early. We hear that simple rhyming statement but are women really offered early detection?
Our “gold standard” for breast cancer screening is mammography, clinical breast exam and self-breast exam. Other techniques are used but ALL current technologies examine structure; something is formed and large enough to be seen or felt. However, it is well-documented that a mass that is detected by mammography has been growing for 8-10 years before it was detected. Is this early detection?
There exists a technology that can detect an issue YEARS before a tumor can be seen on X-ray or palpated during an exam and truly offers early detection. This technology has been approved by the FDA as an adjunctive screening tool since 1982 and offers NO RADIATION, NO COMPRESSION AND NO PAIN. For women who are searching for early breast cancer detection, digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) may be of interest.
Historically, DITI fell out of favor shortly after its initial debut in the early 80s. When DITI was first introduced, strict protocols and trained technicians did not exist. Shortly after its initial beginnings, DITI fell out of favor as a diagnostic tool in the medical community.
There are now very strict protocols both for testing and interpreting. Perhaps due to these guidelines, thermography (as with all digital technology) has exploded in its technique and capabilities. Thermal cameras detect heat emitted from the body and display it as a picture on a computer monitor. These images are unique to the person and remain stable over time. It is because of these characteristics that thermal imaging is a valuable and effective screening tool. Tumors or other breast diseases measures warmer than surrounding tissue and can thereby alert a physician to a problem before a tumor is actually palpable.
Medical doctors who interpret the breast scans are board certified thermologists. Thermography is not limited by breast density and is ideal for women who have had cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, women who refuse mammography, or women who want clinical correlation for an already existing issue. Thermography, because it analyzes a developing process, may identify a problem several years before mammography. As we all know, early detection is important to survival.
DITI has an average sensitivity and specificity of 90%. An abnormal thermogram carries a 10x greater risk for cancer. A persistent abnormal thermogram carries a 22x greater risk for cancer. Thermography, as well as mammography is a personal choice for women. This decision ideally should be made in collaboration between you and your physician. However, thermography does not require a physician’s order.
Thermographic screening is not covered by most insurance companies but is surprisingly affordable for most people. Collections of these out of control tissues are called tumors. However, not all breast tumors are considered cancerous since certain types of large cells just cannot be spread or threaten a person’s life and this kind of tumor is called benign tumor. On the other hand, the tumors that can spread all throughout the body or invade nearby tissues are considered cancerous cells and are malignant. Cancer cells usually comes from either ducts or glands in the breast that is why it may take months or even years for a tumor to be notice in the breast. Breast tumors are screened with the use of mammograms that are rather accurate in screening tumor or cancer cells.
Women are much prone to develop breast cancer that men. Only 1% to 2% of men have been known to have cases of breast cancer. The early onset of menstruation in women at the age of 12 increases the risk for a breast cancer on the other hand an early menopausal period may reduce the risk of breast cancer. The risk for women to have breast cancer increases with age in fact a study shows that women over 50 are more likely to develop breast cancer. Nevertheless, the incidence of breast cancer among younger women is also increasing in an alarming rate that is why more women of ages 20s to 30s have subjected themselves to be diagnosed.
Breast cancer is not only acquired but also can be inherited. For women who have genetic mutation such as BRCA1 or BRCA2 has an 80% risk of developing breast cancer. Women who have first-degree relative diagnosed to have breast cancer increase their risk of also acquiring breast cancer. Moreover, women with first-degree relative that are diagnosed to have breast cancer before menopause increase the risk for them in acquiring breast cancer.
Some factors contribute to the occurrence of breast cancer and these are as follows: smoking, alcohol and radiation exposure. Women who are smoking will increase their chances to have breast cancer. Aside from that, high intakes of alcohol have been found to be a source of breast cancer. Radiation exposure is another factor that contributes to breast cancer. Studies have shown that women as well as children who have undergone high-dose radiation therapy have a much higher chance of having breast cancer.
